Moringa leaf powder is obtained from the naturally dried leaves of the “miracle tree” Moringa, one of the world’s most nutritious plants. The powder is an extraordinary natural multi-vitamin product. It is rich in antioxidants, contains 13 essential vitamins and minerals and has a protein content of 25%. When used as part of your diet, it offers countless benefits.
Here are our top 10 effects Moringa can have on your appearance and health:
1. Reduces tendency to fatigue and become exhausted
Moringa contains particularly high amounts of vitamin A and iron, both of which help prevent fatigue and exhaustion. The body needs vitamin A to produce red blood cells, while iron contributes to the formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, the component of blood that transports oxygen through the body. Insufficient iron means your body must work harder to obtain energy, which can lead to fatigue. Its high iron content makes Moringa ideal for vegetarians, vegans, and people suffering from fatigue and iron deficiencies.
2. Beautiful, healthy and radiant skin
Moringa is rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, E, riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), and zinc, all of which are essential for healthy, radiant beautiful skin. In addition, Moringa has a protein content of 25%, including the eight essential amino acids that support the protein building blocks needed for optimal growth, recovery and the generation of healthy skin cells. Moringa is an excellent source of phosphorus, thus a contributor to the skin’s main features – including the ability to heal itself after exterior injury.
3. Anti-aging effect
The antioxidant content of Moringa is six times higher than that in Goji berries. It also exceeds that of green tea, pomegranates, blueberries and Acai berries. The antioxidants, vitamin E, riboflavin and zinc contained in Moringa help protect cells from oxidative stress, thus counteracting the aging of the skin.
In addition, Moringa contains 1000x more zeatin than other plants. Zeatin is a neurotransmitter and also referred to as the “fountain of youth hormone”. It ensures youthful skin, acts against cellular aging and activates the production of substances that keep the skin young and elastic.
4. A strong, healthy immune system
Modern life means a fast and active life, but that requires a lot of energy. Moringa is an excellent source of vitamins A and B6, as well as iron and zinc. These nutrients support and maintain the essential functionality of the immune system.
5. Powerful energy reserves
As a very good source of vitamin B6, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and riboflavin, Moringa also supplies the body with thiamine (B1), niacin (B3), all of which are essential vitamins – e.g. those that the body does not produce itself – and minerals, which promote good energy reserves.
6. Staying fit, building muscle mass and maintaining it
Regular physical activity is essential to a healthy lifestyle. For that matter, one must ensure that the body receives the right nutrients for preparation as well as for recovery. Moringa supplies the body with calcium, magnesium, potassium and zinc. In addition, it is rich in fiber and contains 25% vegetable protein. Calcium, magnesium and potassium secure the muscle’s functionality, protein helps build muscle mass.
7. Stress compensation
Moringa delivers high doses of vitamin B6, magnesium and potassium and in addition, niacin (B3), and thiamine (B1) – essential nutrients, which are essential for the nervous system to function correctly.
Our modern, fast and often unhealthy life is quite demanding of our body, both mentally as well as physically. Detoxification is a natural process in which the body seeks to rid itself of environmental and dietary toxins. Thus, the body should be cleansed and supplied with new energy in order to function at an optimal level again. Among the 13 essential vitamins and minerals contained in Moringa is vitamin B6, which repairs cell damage and facilitates the healing process. A high concentration of minerals accelerates the detoxification process by making additional energy available. Moringa contains fiber, which is essential to a healthy digestion and keeping the stomach/intestinal flora healthy. This is very important when detoxing. Vitamin B6 helps the liver with detoxification, which in turn helps reduce environmental toxins.
9. Normal blood pressure
You don’t necessarily have to feel high blood pressure. In Germany, about 35 million people are affected by high blood pressure, with seniors from aged 60+ , it is even more than 40 percent. Only every second of them knows about their illness.
The disease is often caused by the lifestyle of the affected persons and massively increases the risk for heart attacks and strokes. Moringa is an excellent source of riboflavin (B2), vitamin B6, potassium, vitamin K, calcium, and iron. Riboflavin and vitamin B6 contribute to the formation and provision of red blood cells, potassium helps maintain a normal blood pressure. Vitamin K and calcium serve in blood coagulation, while iron ensures the normal transport of oxygen in the body.
10. Healthy nails and hair
The content of zinc in Moringa promotes the health of nails and hair
Another significant advantage of Moringa is its taste. Other green supplements, such as the cyanobacterium Spirulina or the freshwater alga chlorella are often perceived as inedible in terms of their flavor. This alone can make their suitability for permanent use as part of one’s daily diet questionable. Moringa is derived from leaves, tastes slightly like spinach, and thus ideal for mixing into smoothies or juices, using it in salad or soup and even savory meals or sweet desserts.
Moringa is a tree native to the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains in northern India. Moringa can grow in tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world and is beginning to be cultivated throughout Africa and South America. This fast growing tree is also known as the “Miracle Tree” and is one of the most concentrated superfoods on the planet. The leaves, seed pods, oil, and flowers are edible while the bark, root, and oil have medicinal uses too. All around, this flowering tree is a powerhouse of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and protein.
Multivitamin and Food – The simple little leaves of this tree have seven times the vitamin C of oranges, four times the calcium of milk, four times the vitamin A of carrots, two times the protein of yogurt, and three times the potassium of bananas. They are also rich in iron, zinc, and B vitamins. Moringa contains 90 nutrients that benefit the body.
Energy and Metabolism – The rich amount of vitamins and minerals nourish cells and result in a boost to energy production. The B vitamins are especially good at aiding energy levels.
Emotional Balance – B vitamins and essential amino acids like tryptophan help maintain emotional well-being, combat depression, and limit anxiety.
Mental Acuity – Moringa’s rich minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, and phytonutrients keep the brain active and well-nourished so it stays sharp.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download
Workout Recovery – As a very good protein source, moringa helps the body repair and rebuild muscle tissue after exercise. The antioxidants also protect muscle tissue from damage.
Blood Sugar – Moringa helps stabilize blood sugar and is being studied for its ability to help those with diabetes.
Blood Pressure – Phytonutrients in moringa aid in the removal of toxins and excess water, protect the kidneys, and help naturally lower blood pressure.
Cholesterol – Fiber, antioxidants, and phytonutrients in moringa help lower cholesterol levels and protect the heart.
Digestive Health – Moringa has been used for thousands of years to treat digestive disorders. It can be made into a juice to help with diarrhea, the fiber helps clean out the intestines, and tea helps soothe upset stomachs.
Anti-inflammatory – Moringa eases inflammation and pain. The leaves are used topically to treat arthritis and injuries. Internally they help alleviate chronic inflammation that can harm organs and tissues.
Antioxidant – Moringa has 46 different types of antioxidants, each one helping take away oxidative stress and free radicals that can destroy and damage cells.
Antimicrobial – Moringa has antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties that protect the body from invaders and give a boost to the immune system.
Cooking – Moringa makes an amazing and healthy cooking oil that rivals extra virgin olive oil. Moringa leaves and seed pods are great additions to many meals.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the nutritional requirements of women are far higher than during any other time of their lives. A few examples:
It is no wonder therefore, that a mother’s vitamin and mineral requirements can be as much as 50 – 100 percent higher than prior to pregnancy.
But despite living in an affluent society, the majority of women in Europe are undersupplied with nutrients, a reason why most women are advised to take supplements of iron and folic acid during their pregnancy. Nutrient deficiencies – in particular, lack of omega-3 fatty acids, folic acids, B vitamins, calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron- can even lead to postpartum depression. Because of these deficiencies a rich and well-balanced diet is of utmost importance to mothers.
The beauty of Moringa is that these essential nutrients are all present in high dosages, aiding in the faster normalization of the hormonal balance after childbirth and nourishing mothers with the most important nutrients needed during pregnancy. In India and Africa, Moringa is often referred to, as “mother’s best friend” because it provides women with the nutrients the body needs during pregnancy and the lactation period – all natural and fully bioavailable.
While supplements should always be discussed with your doctor, Moringa is an excellent way to add these nutrients to your daily diet.
The typical synthetic supplements for pregnant women contain large doses of iron and folic acid. However, it is rarely addressed that this in turn may reduce the body’s capacity for absorbing zinc. Yet Zinc deficiency increases the risk of complications during pregnancy. This is a typical situation whereby one deficiency is substituted with another. So while one aspect is being treated another issue is created.
Vital Nutrients essential to the body thrive and work best in combination with other key nutrients present in the body. Hence the importance of a well-balanced diet with a rich diversity of nutrients.
If, one eats only one kind of food or food supplement for an extended time, they will eventually produce a deficit of another vital substance in their organism. For example, vitamin C requires vitamin B1 as well as certain minerals as counterpart. If one only consumes vitamin C for a long time, they will cause a severe B1 deficit with all its subsequent consequences in their body (e.g. lack of concentration, tingling in the legs and hands, constipation, among others). Moringa, as opposed to many superfoods and synthetic concentrated vitamins, differs in that it contains in its natural plant composite, over 90 different vital substances, vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, trace elements, all amino acids, a lot of vegetable protein, healthy fatty acids, chlorophyll as well as countless plant associated substances that are perfectly balanced and bio-available in one form. This unique and incredibly rich blend of vital elements make Moringa work so well for our bodies. It becomes therefore, among the most holistic and complete source of nutrients out there.
Moringa is the most nutritious plant in the world and there is hardly a food that contains more iron and folic acid. It is rich in beta carotene, potassium and has a protein content of almost 30%. It contains possibly record-breaking levels of antioxidants and all the essential amino acids in balanced proportions. The wide array of nutrients with highest bioavailability makes Moringa-based products a valuable dietary supplement – especially during pregnancy.
Moringa doesn’t just help produce larger quantities of breast milk, it also improves the quality of breast milk. The consumption of Moringa leads to breast milk that contains more vitamins, minerals, trace elements and other vital substances such as the essential amino acids Arginine and Histidine, which cannot be produced by the infant itself. Moringa is rich in Choline, a vitamin that can lead to long-term memory improvements by increasing the responsiveness of brain cells. And the natural probiotic included in Moringa helps prevent occurrence of eczema in the child. Naturally, all this finds its way to the mother’s milk and to the infant.
The yellowish tint of the first milk (colostrum) results from its high beta carotene content. This vitamin prevents oxidation-induced damage during the first phase of the newborn’s life. Moringa is one of the richest beta carotene sources that exist. The immune proteins in the colostrum cover the baby’s intestinal wall like a blanket, thereby protecting it from infections. As we know, Moringa is a superb source of protein and fatty acids.
A study even showed that Moringa can act as a galactagogue, a natural substance that increases the production of milk, even among mothers who give birth to premature babies, while another study in the Philippines, found that mothers who breastfed and used Moringa daily, their breast milk volume and infant weight gains were significantly greater than the control group of mothers and infants that were not taking any Moringa.
Would you not entrust nature rather than synthetic drugs to nourish, heal and repair your body?
In no other food like in Moringa are there are so many vital substances in such elevated concentrations and in such optimal compositions.
Moringa makes all the difference.
In a series of assessments at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife), the Red Moringa trees of this region were analysed by taking samples of the dry powder of the tree. The data of the Tenerife Moringas was not only superior to the Moringa samples from other regions, but also greater than in any studies found to Moringa (see details below).
The Moringa leaf powder is well known for its high content of polyphenols. These function as antioxidants and free radicals. Free radicals and oxidative stress develop from negative environmental effects, stress, intense workouts and hyperacidity. As well they are the cause of many illnesses.
The leaf powder of our Red Moringas has a spectacular polyphenol content of 4.3 g – a 400% higher polyphenol content compared to other Moringas from other countries. The ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) test also reveal the content of antioxidants. Additionally in this red leaf powder were found an ORAC data of up to 115,000 TE μmol/100g. Compared to the phenomenal goji berries which reach only 25,000 ORAC points and are top of the world data, our product is way higher in value.
As well our Red Moringa (selection) contains 904 mg Vitamin C per 100g Moringa Powder. According to findings the Moringa powder contains 17-27 mg Vitamin C. The Moringa of Tenerife contains 33 times more Vitamin C than the normal content.
But why is this difference so significant?
Quality Difference Part I: Climate, Soil and Environment
We have asked the Botanical Institute in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) why this difference is so significant. The high value of vitamins and polyphenols of the Moringa plant is caused by the climate of Tenerife. Hot desert winds, sand, dust blown from the African Sahara paired with the extreme strong influence of the sun in this 28 degree latitude make the Moringa plants adjust to the extreme circumstances. The plant protects itself from strong winds, light and food enemies. The result is a higher proportion of vitamins (especially Vitamin E, Beta-Carotene and, to a lesser extent Vitamin A), and polyphenols and also mustard seed oil glycosides. All these nutrients have a big influence in the nutrition of humans.
Besides the climate, the different soil of different growing areas also has an influence on the quality of Moringa. The nutrient rich volcanic earth and the outstanding location of Tenerife in the middle of the Atlantic, 100 km away from contamination heavy industry and air pollution, help the plants to grow fast and without any contamination.
Quality Difference Part II: Cultivation, Processing and Quality Management
In addition to the stated environmental influences, which are almost impossible to be changed or affected by humankind, is the cultivation, processing and the resulting quality which we provide.
Where is the difference? What make Moringa Garden better?
More results and effects in detail:
Essential amino acids have to be adopted through food because our body cannot produce them. In the findings about Maringa it is said it contains 18 amino acids. In the Moringa of Tenerife it has been proven that all 20 amino acids were found, which is spectacular for a plant. Amino acids are the building blocks for proteins (important for our muscles and immune system). The importance of the variety of amino acids is tremendous. If there is one amino acid missing the protein cannot be build up and is eliminated completely.
Very high values (9595 IJQ/100g) of carotinoide is found in the Moringa, also called retinol equivalents. Many illnesses such as arteriosclerosis, rheumatism, Alzheimer’s disease, cancers, Parkinson’s, blindness and even skin aging can be prevented. Most of them appear as antioxidants. The anticancer effect of the carotinoide derives from the functional communication between the cells. In our eyes, skin, liver and fat tissue there is a higher concentration of the carotinoide than other tissues. As well as for the other secondary plant substances the carotinoide is recommended not to be taken as an extracted, high concentrated supplement, but as a natural combination with other nutrition ingredients. The use of high concentration of supplements has been known to cause health problems.
Lutein & Zeaxanthin
Spectacular values were found of lutein with 259 mg/kg and Zeaxanthin with 14 mg/kg. These substances are important for a regular eye function and maintaining healthy vision. You will find them most in the retina of our eye, in the so called macula (yellow stain). These substances probably function as natural protection, because the retina with its high oxidant-sensitive fatty acids is very susceptible to the attack of free radicals.
Chlorophyll is in our Moringa leaf powder with its surprising 270/mg per 100g. It is important in the supplement of oxidants in the functional efficiency of our lungs and body. The molecule of the chlorophyll contains magnesium which makes our muscles, nerves strong and as well it is important for a healthy cardiovascular system. It has an antibacterial effect and disables anaerobic bacteria.
The Phytohormone Zeatin is 1000 times more in the Moringa compared to other plants. It enriches the cell growth and the cell partition, the nutrient transformation and the energy transport. Zeatin is very important for the application and reception of vital substances such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It increases the bio-disposability up to ten times. Zeatin brings the vital substances for health prophylaxis and cell partition to the exact place in our body where they are needed, where is deficient, and brings them to the cells.
The quality cultivation in the Moringa Garden as well the optimal climate of Tenerife makes our Moringa especially valuable. Moringa from the Moringa Garden in Tenerife – a supplement which should be part of your daily nutrition.
A summary of the ingredients of our Moringa leaf powder can be found at:
Translated from German by Dr. Markus Paul Forster (Quality Manager Moringa Garden Tenerife)
Moringa is not medication but simply a type of food. Therefore there are no strict guidelines of how much to take. Generally, the recommended intake for Moringa largely depends on its quality and drying process.
Our Red and Premium qualities both are of pure leaves – without sprigs and leaf-stalks and are grown without the use of any pesticides, processed and gently dried with utmost care and top notch technology in order to keep all vital elements. They are strong, intense in taste and do contain many bitter and spicy substances as well as mustard oil glycosides that stimulate digestion. Likely they are stronger than any Moringa you have tried before and you may have to take less than what you have taken before.
We recommend to take 3-5g over the course of the day mixed with all kinds of foods and drinks. As some nutrients are destroyed by heat and others are activated by it, ideally 1/3 should be consumed raw and 2/3 should be added as a an ingredient to your cooked dishes. Test different amounts, different ways to take it while listening to your body.
And yes, you can take Moringa in capsules but then you miss out on valuable nutrients that are only activated through heat such as many of Moringa’s polyphenols which are the most important vital elements that our bodies need.
If you are new to Moringa you should start slowly and increase intake over the course of several days. And if you are sensitive, cook with Moringa rather than take it in raw form. Heat destroys the mustard oil glycosides to a large extent and activates polyphenols – free radicals catcher. However, using raw Moringa as a seasoning you get all the vitamins that are reduced through the cooking heat.
Cooking with Moringa is easy: You can add Moringa pretty much to anything. You can add Moringa to scrambled eggs or pancakes. Just this morning we had banana pancakes (4 eggs mashed with 2 ripe bananas and a teaspoon Moringa) served with maple sirup and berries.
